1bitHeart Post

The year is 2222, and you live in a bustling city in Japan by the sea. There are many different neighborhoods, from strictly urban areas, to more traditional Japanese neighborhoods, to areas full of cafes for tired businessmen, to the rougher part of town, to the beachside properties. In general, the city seems peaceful, but lively.
The latest rage is BitPhones - a must-have for anyone. Not only do they have as many apps as you could possibly want from a smartphone, and come in all kinds of customizable shapes and sizes, but they contain things like your ID and other essential data. All BitPhones are connected by the Master Program, an essentially indecipherable program maintained by some guy living in his apartment with his shut-in cousin.
But that's probably not very important.

[He tries asking the waitress if he could have Wolpis and some milky cookies but she seemed to have a panic attack and left... This is the manager of this joint yeah? Hope it isn't too bad of him to come in where the guy was lounging around.]

Oh, of course. Would you like to mix it yourself, or would you prefer Wolpis Soda?
no subject
[Cafes sure are cool. You can mix your own Wolpis... Why don't WAC do something like that... That's kinda... wack.]
Oh I'll go take a seat then my fine man, sorry bout that. Your girly... uh... she gonna be cool? She kinda flew the coop.

[To say the least.]
This happens all the time. I'll bring you your drink.

[Enri nods to the old guy and lets him go do his job while he stares at the interior of the cafe. Pretty snazzy, kinda comfy too. You'd think they'd play some music on a stereo or have someone play here to set the mood though. Ah, maybe it's the size of the cafe. It's pretty teeny... Maybe Enri can... get in a good word or two with the manager to play here? Their equipment isn't that big...He resolves to ask once the guy comes back.]
[Enri may not the best band member, but he manages to be the one that is roped into asking people to play gigs. Something about being the most calm and understandable. Still, usually he's met with stern refusals.]

40 bits for your Wolpis Soda, please.
[There's only a little bit of a markup from buying at the cafe!
Basic transactions like these are easy for him, even if he is a naturally nervous person - he's been running the cafe for a while now and he's got the day-to-day stuff down. ...Being easily cowed by customers tends to lead to 'good customer service', anyway?]

Here you go man, thanks. Uh... by the way, do you ever have any um... entertainment here? Like, Friday nights or anything?

Kotora doesn't comment on the wallet as he accepts the bits. Larikkuma's popular with kids today, huh.]
Not really? We usually have some music playing, but nothing live. I don't have much of an ear for music, to be honest...
no subject
Oh okay. So you like play it on a boom box or something...
[He takes a gulp of his Wolpis. Maybe it was the environment, but it tasted a lot better than it usually did. This place had something relaxing to it.]
I've been told I don't have a good ear for music either but I think I'm pretty chill... My bros and I have a band, so if you ever... um... are fine with us... We'd be more than happy to play sometime...
[Don't even have to pay them. What a deal. Broken ear drums for free.]
no subject
Really? No strings attached, you'd just come over and play?
[That sounds amazing, to be honest. Which is why he's worried that they're going to hold it over his head later.]
i hope it's okay if i reply to this aaa
[...He says as he's reaching into the cafe's cookie jar already.]
absolutely!
Normally people pay for those...
no subject
[Obtained: one (stolen) cookie! And these ones are much better than the standard packaged crap. Not that he'd ever tell that to the old man.]
no subject
That's what I thought you'd say...

So why do you even try? It wouldn't make a difference, since you're such an incompetent adult.

[Jail might honestly be better than this.]
