What was this girl doing here? She didn't look armed. If couldn't recognize her either and she liked to think she'd recognize all the girls her age. Was she perhaps from another human community?
Those were quite rare here...for all she knew, her own could be the last bastion of humanity in the Pitch World.
"What are you doing way out here...? Someone like you shouldn't be in this area. Mogekos are rampant here." If you are a hypocrite.
"I noticed." Kind of hard to ignore the Mogekos that were after her all this time. "I was kidnapped by Mogekos, that's how I ended up here. I just want to go home."
Yonaka paused. "Are you - another human?" She looked human, but you never could tell, really.
Kidnapped? Well, that wasn't hard to believe in the slightest. Those nasty little things would do just about anything for girls their age.
"I'm human," she reassured, taking on a gentler tone. Who knew what this poor girl must have been through, "why don't you come with me to my home. We can figure out from there how to get you back to your own community. It's nice to know there are still other humans alive out there."
"My name is If. Yes, as in the conjunction." She preempted the question since it was one she got a lot. Understandably so, and her irritation at that went more towards her parents for giving her such a weird name.
She indicated that Yonaka ought to follow her. No point sticking around here and giving the Mogekos more time to find them. They were fairly easy to kill individually but in swarms...well, even she had had close calls in the past.
"Tell me about it." If muttered with a roll of her eyes. "Still doesn't end. All my fellow hunters still tease me about it, but what can you do?" Honestly it didn't bother her that much, since she knew she'd do the same if their positions were switched.
If followed the way, moving quietly and glancing back every now and then to make sure that Yonaka was still safe and following.
At the sound of Yonaka's stomach, If couldn't help but laugh a little. Talking about perfect timing.
"So I can hear!" She reached into a little pouch around her waist. She reached into it, her hand seeming to sink deeper than the pouch indicated and pulled out a fresh green apple, tossing it behind her in a perfect arc towards Yonaka.
"I don't have too much on me but once we get to town we can get something more in you. It'll take us about an hour."
