Roles
1. Magical Girl/Boy/Other: The star of the show. Fairly obvious.
2. The Big Bad: The evil overlord. The diabolical sorceress. Mostly you just sit on your butt and watch your minions constantly fail to destroy Earth’s protectors, but for special occasions you might decide to get involved yourself.
3. Villain of the Week: The cannon fodder of evil. You’ve got half an hour to make your vile machinations shine before the goody-goods take your ass down like breadcrumbs at a seagull convention. Garner enough of a fanbase and you might get to make a second appearance!
4. Supporting Characters: The backup team. Wacky comic relief, caring parents, stern principals, and that one guy who runs the ramen stand.
5. Adorable (or not) Mascots: The cute animal who's perfect for toy marketing. You're there for moral support...unless you aren't.
6. Civilian/Victim of the Week: You aren't even supposed to be here today. Now you're caught in the middle of a battle between good and evil and there's not much you can do for it.
7. The Third Faction/Mysterious Figure: Who are you? What are your allegiances? Will you ever stop standing on buildings and spouting vague phrases while your cape billows in the wind? It's a mystery!

3. Boss Battle: The Big Bad’s just shown up. Time to pull out all the stops and use that magical upgrade item you conveniently obtained last episode. Let’s kick this thing into overdrive and kick this monster out of town.
4. Normal, Interrupted: You’re just trying to go on a date with your love interest (who may or may not be that strange masked person who shows up at all your battles), or need to get to that important exam that will make or break your final grade. Why do the bad guys have to show up now?
