"It seems too small to live in," Karen comments. There's no real possibility of getting reassigned to a bigger apartment, but she feels like it has to be said.

Of course, the apartment is actually quite reasonably sized, but this is Karen we're talking about. As far as she's concerned, each of their beds should be the size of the entire bedroom.

"You think so?" Pamela takes a good look around. "Pamela's used to sleeping in tents, it's nice to have real beds. And a heater!"

How appalling is sleeping on the cold hard ground compared to a warm apartment?

That's camping, and therefore different. You're supposed to be miserable.

"I suppose it could be worse." At least they've been assigned a room at all, right? Karen goes to inspect the kitchen and see what they have in that area. Hopefully Pamela can cook, she thinks...

Sadly, there's no sirloin steak or whatever Karen's used to. There's leftover pizza. How is there leftovers? Who was here earlier?

"Ooh, it's veggie, my favorite!"

Pamela doesn't care about these things.

"Why is there... hey, don't just eat it!"

Karen cares about these things! She knows how these things work! There's some OOC announcement post somewhere about the game's very first event where everyone will find A, B, and C in their fridge and pantry as appropriate and eating them will cause X, Y, and Z. Well no actually she's just super suspicious about this whole thing.

"But... Pamela's hungry!"

Pamela puts the box of pizza down for now and turns to make wibbly eyes at Karen. Wibbly eyes and pouting.

No. No, Pamela, don't do that. You know Karen can't stand up to it. Okay I guess actually you don't know that yet.

"Aren't you the least bit curious about why there would just be pizza waiting?"

"We can figure that out later!"

She isn't that curious in the first place, and compared to hunger, it's negligible.

"But what if it's something dangerous?"

Karen may be under the impression that she can win this one.

"The great Pamela can handle it."

Expect more of this overconfidence for as long as you're here.

Which could be a while, considering.

Karen sighs. "All right. Enjoy yourself." With that, she starts checking for the phone number for emergency services. Who are probably in on any weird jamjar conspiracies, but she hasn't thought about that yet.

"Thanks!"

Pamela practically inhales that entire pizza. When she's done licking her lips, she lets out a happy, "Ahhh, that was so good! ...Did you want some?"
