[ Hlasoh sat Kerhet a'Rhen really doesn't need this. It's bad enough, that after years of neglect and disparagement, House Rhen decided that she deserved a position of prominence and responsibility within that sprawling decadent clan (read: to be a puppet). No, now they insisted that she live a life appropriate to a noble's station and dignity. [ Hlasoh, with her resentment towards aristocratic culture isn't well-disposed to the entire concept of having a servant, but trying to kick her out would be more trouble than it's worth.

[Melissa ducks out of the room, and returns very soon with a plate of frosted cupcakes. They're chocolate, as all cupcakes should be.]

[ When Melissa comes back, Hlasoh is already nose-first in some book of arcane lore or another. With all the useless stuff she has to do lately, she has to get her studies in when she can.

She looks up at the cupcakes, taking one and sniffing it. Seeing with her magical sight if there's some weird curse on it. Never hurts to be cautious. ]

[ She sets the book on the bed, then takes a bite, getting a dollop of frosting her cheek. ]

[No weird curses, just a delicious, if messy snack.]

[Melissa comes closer and delicately, slowly wipes the frosting on her cheek with her thumb, lingering longer than really necessary with her thumb at her lips.]

[ Hlasoh fidgets with her hands, despite herself looking sidelong at Melissa. She's really pretty... but this is absurd. ]

[ It's certainly not the first time, no. For all of her introversion, there's an intensity that draws people to her, an air graceful and forlorn and passionate under her icy surface.
