Hades AU Catch-All

"...I admit I know very little of timid Gerasimos, whose hard work makes him near-invisible and his choice of abode further still; it is a rare day indeed when we cross paths. He is one of those few whose work not even the master himself can find fault with, and quite happy in his role besides.

...Some heavy sadness weighs constant on his shoulders, though it would take someone far more approachable and determined than I to divine its cause. There have been rumors of the circumstances that surrounded his employ, but troubled souls are ever present in the House, so it seems indecent to pry."`

This is a catch-all for Hades AU Gershom, AKA Gerasimos. He's a shade who works in the administrative chamber, and can be found either there or in the library of the house of Hades. He has his human appearance (the one with the beard) and while he can change to a skeletal form reflecting that time his boyfriend Sotiris turned him into a skeleton when he was alive and Thanatos had to go collect him after accounting figured out he'd been alive way too long and Sotiris tried to physically assault actual Death, he prefers not to do that. Because that's traumatic.

He's usually nervous and shy, not much of a self-esteem to speak of despite being one of Hades' best and least grudging administrators, but he lights up when talking about learning or books, and talking to him is how Zagreus unlocks access to the library to begin with.

Post is open to fellow Hades AUs or Hades canon characters.

You can't go a few steps without stumbling over some kind of treasure in the Underworld.  Gold, gems, jewelry...  It's a veritable paradise of wealth.

And Momus isn't interested in any of it.

Not that he doesn't like a little bit of sparkle and pizzazz in his life from time to time, but all of those material things that mortals covet are just that: things.  Useful in their day to day lives, nearly pointless in death, and, to gods like himself, little more than a handy fashion accessory or embellishment to add some color and glitter to their surroundings.

No, Momus is after something better.  Something banned.

Nectar has always been good for business.--delicious, intoxicating, great for a party or two away from prying eyes, and clearly wanted by just about everyone in the Underworld, alive or dead--but lately Prince Zagreus has edging in on his territory in that regard.  He needs something better, something amusing or awful or some horrible combination of the two, and he knows well that writers and poets are a veritable fountain of the stuff.  All he needs to do is slip into the administrative chamber unnoticed, thumb through the files on the various dead guys each time he's in, and convince the Dead Poet's Society that he's their biggest fan.  After all, with his reputation, they'd be fools to turn down a recommendation from him.

And as for the shades working round the sundial to keep the Underworld's paperwork moving smoothly, well...  He still had a few nectar bottles on him for the sake of bribery.
