Goodness, it has been far too long since I did Tarot readings! My cards have been collecting dust, and that simply won't do.

[A deck is on the table in front of her.]

Simply focus on your question while shuffling the deck, and inform me of your question when you return the deck to me. Then I can read your fortune.

[Rantaro gives the girl a friendly wave before settling down in his seat. He takes a moment to retrieve a notebook and a pencil from his shoulder bag and write something down... Then set the notebook off to the side on the table so the girl can read it while he's shuffling the cards.]

Sorry I have to talk like this. A vow of silence went bad, so I pretty much lost my voice.

[He doesn't seem to be thinking about going mute as he's shuffling though...]

[Telepathy still feels kind of weird though. By comparison, a notebook is hardly strange at all.]

So, uh... [Lina twirls a piece of hair around her finger.] I kind of... inherited a huge responsibility. Like, maybe save-the-city huge. But I don't know what to do about it. One wrong move and I'm toast, but I'm the only one who knows who the prime suspect is and we still don't know how he did it. I can't just do nothing...

[A meta nod at a past interaction, or pure forgetfulness? It's hard to tell. A lot has happened, after all. In fact, that seems to be all he's thinking about as he shuffles the cards.]

To be honest, I'm not sure what to even ask. I've... been through a lot.

The Five of Cups. Loss, bereavement, regret.

The Lovers. Relationship to others, determining your values.

The first card seems fairly straightforward. The Five of Cups centers on the regret - the regret you would have if you did nothing, the regret you would have if you did the wrong thing. Thus the Lovers suggests that your course of action is to work together with others. People who share your values and will want to help you. If you're the only one who knows the suspect, perhaps it's time to share that information with those you trust?

The Ten of Swords. Bottoming out, being a victim, finding yourself at your lowest point.

The Four of Cups. Self-absorption, apathy, withdrawing from others.

The low place that you've found yourself in your life - makes it very easy to withdraw from others, doesn't it? You feel as if there isn't any point in making connections, or that you can't. You keep everything to yourself and stifle all of your emotions.

But you can make connections, and you should share your emotions. You are at your lowest point, true, but that means there is nowhere to go but up. And you might be surprised how many people want to connect with you.

Can't say that for the Ultimate Academy, though. True, he didn't have the luxury of sticking around long enough to get real close to anyone, but he also didn't get to see if anyone he got along with survived...
